    Summer Knucklehead or Whiz Kid?

So summer is finally here.  As Nat King Cole sang, “Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, those days of soda and pretzels and beer!”  What?  That is definitely not what Warriors should be whistling.  You don’t want your brain going lazy, and then hazy, which then leads to crazy!  You don’t want to feed your body a steady diet of soda and pretzels and beer.

That kind of diet for your mind and your body will not only lead to a dummy dip, it will cause a knucklehead nose dive!  It’s a one-two punch that will have you moving around like a sloth for the next two months, and cause you to cry on your performance sheet in September and October.

Today I want to focus on the team meeting.  Last week I discussed team training, and I hope that you stopped talking about the training and started doing the live training.  If you were already doing live training, then get the movie camera rolling and let’s get some HD quality training happening!

    Team Training Done Right

This morning I wanted to explain how a team training should be run, and next week I will get into the details of team meetings and one on one meetings.  To begin with, it might be helpful to highlight what team trainings are not.

Team training is not a team meeting.  It is not a team discussion about how to modify the scripts or change the procedures.  Team training is not a time to discuss why you don’t want to change your old scripts.  It is not a time to assign new scripts or a time to learn new scripts. It is not a time to talk about the scripts.  It is a time to DO the scripts.
