First, this is the story of all mankind.
It is not just you. It is everyone.
Everyone on the planet was born into the great love story of redemption. God's love for every human being was exhibited by Christ on the cross.
But it has to be personal for you. Christ died so that you could have a personal relationship with a loving God.
Second, we need to understand that surrender is a journey and not a destination.
It is not a performance goal.
It is a process.
It is not easy, but it is possible.
We will fall down and fall short but there is grace when we stumble.
So how do we follow through on our desire to surrender?
By training and being mindful of what we are doing and what we are focusing on.
By retraining our brain to have a different awareness and to think differently.
We need to train to let go.
I have journaled consistently for many years and continue to try to journal everyday. I'm challenging you to do the same for the next 40 days.
At the top left corner of each new entry for the day write down the date and your location. In the top right hand corner write two things.
1. Percent of time you were mindful of Christ the previous day. (Or use a scale of 1-10 and rate your Christ mindfulness as best you can)
2. Percent victory over the things that you want to surrender. For example if you are surrendering your food addiction, rate how well you did the previous day.
You obviously have to be honest with yourself and make a discerning assessment. This won't be an exact science but more of a subjective rating of how you did.
This simple task of writing it down will keep you in process and on track and moving forward. When you have small victories in this journey write them down in your Warrior Way 90 Day under achievements.
If you are consistent with this you will begin to see a beautiful transformation begin to happen in every area of your life.
You will be letting go of what you don't need and finding freedom in surrender. This is so much better than hanging onto things, laden down under a heavy burden and stumbling around in the dark.
Life is much lighter in every sense of the word when we are surrendered.
Get out your journal and start training and tracking.
