    Freedom Through Training

First, this is the story of all mankind.
It is not just you.  It is everyone.

Everyone on the planet was born into the great love story of redemption. God's love for every human being was exhibited by Christ on the cross.

But it has to be personal for you. Christ died so that you could have a personal relationship with a loving God.

Second, we need to understand that surrender is a journey and not a destination.

It is not a performance goal.
    It is a process.
It is not easy, but it is possible.
We will fall down and fall short but there is grace when we stumble.

So how do we follow through on our desire to surrender?

By training and being mindful of what we are doing and what we are focusing on.

By retraining our brain to have a different awareness and to think differently.

We need to train to let go.

I have journaled consistently for many years and continue to try to journal everyday. I'm challenging you to do the same for the next 40 days.

At the top left corner of each new entry for the day write down the date and your location. In the top right hand corner write two things.

    1. Percent of time you were mindful of Christ the previous day. (Or use a scale of 1-10 and rate your Christ mindfulness as best you can)
    2. Percent victory over the things that you want to surrender. For example if you are surrendering your food addiction, rate how well you did the previous day.

You obviously have to be honest with yourself and make a discerning assessment.  This won't be an exact science but more of a subjective rating of how you did.

This simple task of writing it down will keep you in process and on track and moving forward. When you have small victories in this journey write them down in your Warrior Way 90 Day under achievements.

If you are consistent with this you will begin to see a beautiful transformation begin to happen in every area of your life.
You will be letting go of what you don't need and finding freedom in surrender. This is so much better than hanging onto things, laden down under a heavy burden and stumbling around in the dark.

Life is much lighter in every sense of the word when we are surrendered.

Get out your journal and start training and tracking.

Thank you for this challenge Yurij. I love to journal and I recognize the blessings that come from it. What boggles my mind is why I stop journalling for periods of time...like right now! Okay, I am back on it and what I am surrendering to for the next 40 days is busy-ness and will take the challenge of slowing my mind down and taking time to read each day. Thank you Yurij.

Yes, I love it when little things make a big difference. Thanks Coach Yurij! This mindfulness exercise sounds like one of those things where my focus will expand my intention with direction. I'm doing it - 40 days onward with every entry until it's habit.

Of all the warrior teachings, I struggle with journalling the most. Thanks for challenging us Yurij!

I didn't realize how much over-eating was my beep and just how much of a hold it had on me (contrary to my appearance, it seriously is!) until I started my new narrow in me/40 day challenge - thanks Coach for helping to set me free!

This 40 day challenge came at the perfect time. I started a zone diet a few days prior to this challenge so journaling is a critical part. It'a amazing how life gets in the way of the things I know I "should do" that are important but instead I let the urgent get in the way of the important. My zone challenge is well on its way for about 14 days now but Ill admit my journaling has not been up to spec. This comment is just a commitment that I am going to journal every day in the way Yurij instructed. The biggest revelation I received was to get real deep with my journaling on WHY I am doing the zone diet otherwise it will be just another 10 lbs I lost and gained back to add to the other 13-10lbs I lost and gained. You'd think I'd get tired of doing this over and over.....well you are right and I believe journaling is the key! Thanks for this Yuirj. Darryl

I have been doing the 40 day challenge for the last 4 days. it is actually challenging but i definitely see the value and i am already more mindful of both; God's work in my life and also my need for a closer relationship with my heavenly Father. Thanks. Yurij

Its crazy how little time it takes to creep back into your old patterns when you step away from something you love! Surrender... my new (but forgotten) name. Great challenge! I would like to step up. Really enjoyed your comments also everyone.

Yurij this is a great challenge, thank you! I agree, this challenge will help take me to the next level of transformation. When I reflect on my daily score for #1 it's pretty much a 1 or 2 everyday.... Clearly I'm badly in need of this.

Thanks Yurij for the challenge and for the call yesterday. My "why" is getting bigger. Glorifying God is the ultimate motive. Two weeks ago, I felt the need to surrender my hot showers in the morning. Hard for me, especially after an outside run with the weather cold lately... Thanks for your encouragement to pursue His voice and be obedient in the moment.

Surrendering my obsession to be connected to everything and everybody ALL the time. Although my calling is along these lines and part of "my narrow" I cannot forget the people who are right in front of my face especially during family time. Be in the now and stop carrying my iPhone from room to room like it's an appendage :( .

I am surrendering right now by posting this comment. Listening to my coach and DOING! The more I engage with warrior the more excited I get about training! I love the freedom about letting go of the outcome and just focus on the training. Surrendering all worries and focusing on day to day action steps. Amazing!

Thanks Yurij. I am in. I love the simplicity of the focus and know I need to surrender several things related to nutrition as well as continue to focus on God's love. I'm showing up!

I'll admit that journalling has not been my strongest suit thus far. However, your challenge seems to be a good "Pringle Step" to be more consistent. I'll do it.

Wow! God works in interesting ways... I just started this exact mindful journaling 11 days ago. Except that I was called to do it for 60 days, I'm 11 days in and haven't missed a morning.
