It's time to
throw open the curtains on today's sunrise and
embrace all that God has in store for you!
Today is a new day full of potential that has never happened before and will never happen again.
You have a choice today.
Option 1 is to hit the snooze button, pull the sheets up over your chilled shoulders, take in a leisurely sighing breath and drift back into Lala land.
Option 2 is to turn off the alarm, jump up out of bed,
throw open the curtains on the world and step into a brand new day full of adventure, intrigue, mystery and unbelievable potential.
We often forget that
it is our choice.
We choose how we interpret the day. We get to decide how it plays out.
We can let the day happen to us or we can shape the day by being intentional on how we embrace it.
I talked to a few Warriors early this morning and the topic of uncertainty came up quite a bit.
Everyone had their own take on it given their season in life, but they all embraced the idea that you have to plan things out and execute, be intentional in stepping into revelation, and be willing to be interrupted.
That sounds like it is coming from opposite directions: Be discipled and planned out (so that you get done what God has asked you to do) yet let God interrupt you whenever necessary.
The other thing that came up was the importance of relationships and the certainly that relationships will trump pretty much everything else in life.
The old saying, 'On your death bed you won't be wishing you had spent more time at the office' is really true.
Let's look at embracing uncertainty through the lens of relationships.
How can we be intentional and planned out and at the same time be available when God comes knocking?
It starts with being planned out in our core relationships.
Core relationships defined as our relationship with God, spouse, children and on down the line.
We should be intentional in all these relationships and have a weekly plan on how to build into them.
For example we build into our relationship with God with morning time.
We work on making our marriages awesome by having consistent date nights. We pour into our children by having personal one on one time with them.
We have a desired outcome in mind, we create a plan on how to get there, and then we execute the plan.
Here is the really cool part.
Having a plan and executing the plan gives you the margin to be interrupted.
Being organized and disciplined gives you margin to get unorganized when you need to. It gives you the capacity to embrace the uncertainty, adventure, intrigue, mystery and unbelievable potential of today.
It's a choice. How will you begin your day? Will your feet hit the ground with boundless anticipation or will you roll over in bed and pass up the opportunity?
Embrace today, tomorrow is not guaranteed.

In the past month, I've been interrupted, literally, in the middle of my Doctor's Report by the participants. Been told among other things, very salesy, not engaging people at their level of knowledge, talking to people not having a conversation, talking to the powerpoint not people, etc. It's been a humbling week of getting feedback from them on my report, and the key has been to let it flow, surrender. Fast to listen, slow to anger right? AND Because of this, I'm on the verge of a breakthrough on my report! I'm very clear this is a gift and lesson from above.
Praise to His interruptions!

I really needed to read that and bring me back to the things that are important in my life. The part where you mention the importance of relationships trumps everything hit home. I'm getting ready to take off for vacation this weekend and even this am was thinking about the preparing for the trip. The chatter was non stop with questions like, will the patients be okay? will the practice be okay? Do I have the funds ( I do have the funds)to be free to pour into Sharon next week and have this recreation time? etc. etc. Thanks for the reminder about being intentional about relationships and seizing the day! Carpe Diem for Christ, all in for the all in from above down inside out!
