To be more FULL OUT and more SOLD OUT even in some small way.  

To keep the momentum and growth that was started earlier in the year.

To not take the foot off the gas completely as summer approaches. 

The challenge was to commit to more vision time, to get away and listen to God's call and take action on what you hear.

Summertime is awesome, but it is also a time when we can get too relaxed and overly distracted.

The weather here in the north gets nice for 2 months and the kids are home from school and holidays are planned.

There is a lot of opportunity to sell out. Now is the time to continue to be SOLD OUT.

Staying SOLD OUT takes a continued commitment to your morning time and your vision time.

I specifically want you to carve out more VISION TIME. This summer, negotiate with your family to have 4 to 6 hours off on a mountain or in the woods or by a stream or wherever your favourite place is to hang out with Jesus. Bring your Bible and your journal.

Spend time in joyful relationship.  Read your Bible and listen to what Jesus is telling you and record it in your journal.

Ephesians 5:15 "Be very careful then how you live..." 

Earlier in Chapter 5, Paul was telling the Ephesians to "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

In 1 John 2:6 the apostle John tells us that "Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did."


Am I SOLD OUT or am I SELLING OUT?


What does it mean to be "imitators of God and walk as Jesus did?"
Sounds pretty much impossible! I believe what I was hearing was that we are to do our best to be Spirit led.

To do what God is asking us to do more than what the world is asking.
To adhere to our vision, and mission, and principles, and not drift when times get tough.
To do the 'real thing' more often than the 'right thing'.
To build relationships of joy and love instead of strife and hatred. 

I believe Jesus wants us to be on a journey of reconstruction.  To be a little bit more like Him every day.
He is not looking for perfection. He isn't even holding us to a 50% passing grade! 
What he wants is a genuine effort to shake off the old self and embrace the new.
All our stumbles and falls and miscues as we try out our new way of living are covered by His grace.
His grace is sufficient.

Action steps for a SOLD OUT summer that will change your life: 
1. Pick a place to do your vision time where you feel God's presence.
2. Pick a couple of half days that you can get away and spend some time with Jesus.
3. Record what He is showing you. 
4. Do what He says.
