Why Some Practices Grow and Others Don't

Sometimes It's the Little Things That Make a Big Difference. November 28, 2017 Enhancing human performance

Have you ever wondered why sometimes you are doing a lot of things right but the results in your business are just not there?

In my experience as a coach this scenario is all too common. 'Doing a lot of things right' makes the assumption that you are already training hard and that you are training on the right things. These are clients that have been coached for a few years and are near the top of their game but are trying to take things to the next level.

This morning I talked to one client that was serving 500 patients a week and another that was at 650. Both feel like they are being called to do more and have had good practice growth in the past 12 months (increased by over 100 patient visits per week). Both of these clients are about 5 to 10 times above industry averages in business volume.

I'm always trying to figure out what transpires during these growth phases. What happened to allow them to grow to this new level and what do they need to do to get to the next level?

The answers they gave me and the insights I want to share will surprise you.

They both mentioned that they believe that there is more.

Their belief is that if they train on excellence in every area of their lives, then the growth is not only possible but it is inevitable.
    Their goals will overtake them.

My observation is that to grow, belief also has to be consistent. Day in day out, training hard and being disciplined will lead to growth. You cannot take days or weeks off from this mindset. Consistent belief leads to consistent results.

Day in and day out, training hard and being disciplined will lead to growth.  Consistent belief leads to consistent growth.

Once the big stones are in place it's the seemingly tiny things that make the biggest difference.

Here's the special sauce. When asked how the growth happened the first client said that he wrote his volume and collection goals at the top of every single day in the WarriorWay90Day.

    Consistent discipline.

The second client said that he makes left eye to left eye contact with every client every single day.

    Consistent discipline.

What's so special about that? Writing things down and making eye contact? It's the one thing that they needed to do. It's the first domino that started the chain reaction.

What is the domino that you need to knock over?

I have preached many times about the importance of consistent morning time. Warrior procedure involves a wakeup time before 5am, although most of our seasoned clients are up around 4:30. Getting up early allows for a head start on everyone else. WHY aren't you doing this??  It gives time to get right with God, set the right priorities for true success and plan and organize the day. Warriors that are consistent and discipled and get up early everyday, experience tremendous growth.

What is God calling you to do? Where have you not been showing up?

If you showed up with humility and thanksgiving everyday how many more people could you impact for the Kingdom? What is the one thing that you need to do today and then everyday?

Hope you are getting this because lives are on the line.

Consistency in making new habits and daily discipline is the biggest victory for me and the hardest thing for me. Change is not easy!

Thanks coach Yurij for that powerful blog. I am reminded that consistent discipline means that I am committed to agape training which leads to continuous transformation. What a great timely reminder that is for me.

Thanks for the message Coach. I remember you saying years ago, “If you knew that getting up before 4:30 every morning for a year would double your practice, would you do it?” Well, it may not double your practice right away, but it will multiply your life.

I have so totally been both of those guys - growing and stuck in a rut different times in my practice career. Thanks for the clarity coach! Just need a steady supply of that secret sauce! Great blog!

Loved this Blog Yurij. I remember having so much difficulty believing in myself and believing anything in the beginning. The greatest benefit to me was watching and being around other Warriors they had a much higher belief than me. What I believed most was that if I just hung around with great believers and just followed their lead in doing what they did my hope was my belief would soon rise. I just wanted to believe and that made all the difference. Thank you Warrior for setting the example so I can continue to raise my belief!!

Great points and I totally concur! consistent beliefs is key. Leadership requires to be steadfast in beliefs even when others around me don't believe. it is good to be reminded because it is so easy to become complacent and lose sight that there can be more. Thanks Yurij!

Thanks for the message Yurij. Life is always interesting. I've reflected on my own growth at times and it always follows SUBMISSION. Laying down MY WAY and doing what He wants me to do and enjoy it. This past year has shown grown at times when I am seeking Him and submitting to His way--- the consistency is still a work in progress. If I am truthful, this year it has been up and down frequently-- the turn arounds are recognized and flipped quicker than in the past, but still many ups and downs. 2018-- work on more CONSISTENCY with submission and BELIEFS! thanks Coach

Thank for you the "re-writing goals in WW90day each week" and "left eye to left eye" part. I'm changing that part of my story today.

Great post Yurij. I can absolutely see where I have trained hard in many areas of my life, but not all. Where I've trained hard without consistent belief. Or written down everything I felt I needed to do, rather than the one thing to stay focused on. Without the belief, it becomes the things I think/wonder/hope I'm doing right (double mindedness) rather than giving God the space to allow God's goals for my life to overtake me. This will renew my focus for the start of my year. Thank you!

Great message Yurij. My goal is definitely to simplify, focus and be consistent with the little things that make the biggest impact.

The title could also read,'Why sometimes my practice grows and other times it plateaus'. If you have reached a plateau in your practice or business it is time to consistently change the things that are holding you back.
