Audience of One: Nothing to Lose

Set up your life to always be on the winning side! February 9, 2017 by Yurij Chewpa

The vast majority of people never reach their full potential because of fear, as I described in my last post.
The primary fear is worrying about what other people will think about you.

Here is one winning strategy to make it easier to step into fear and decrease the fear of man.

The ultimate way to eliminate fear is to get rid of your ego.

If you go into any kind of transaction or relationship with another human being and make it all about them instead of all about yourself, you will be able to snuff out fear.
Without ego you stop thinking about yourself and you put the other person first. By putting the other person ahead of yourself you eliminate, or at least minimize, what you want to get out of the transaction and focus on how you can bless that person.

By wanting nothing other than to serve them and love them you have nothing to lose and everything to give.

When you enter into a relationship in this way, the recipient will recognize you are being genuine, and if you are able to help them or offer them something that they need, then they will participate.

To understand how much ego you are still holding onto, reflect on your thoughts when you are transacting with other people.

When you are out on a Warrior group run, do you care about who is ahead of you or behind you?
When you are at the gym, do you compare how much you are lifting with respect to everyone else?
When you are in your practice or at work, are you paralyzed with worry about how people may react when you speak the truth in love to them?

Slay that one thing (ego) and you will explode your life.

Ultimately true freedom comes from only being concerned with what God thinks.
Are you constantly performing for others or are you being genuine to who God created you to be and performing for an audience of One?

Thanks for the reminder coach. This is indeed not for me, not about me. It's all about who I'm serving, about my Maker, Redeemer, Provider, Father.

Once again great comments everyone. Really appreciate you adding to the discussion. This whole ego thing goes a lot deeper then you think. Keep peeling back the layers to reveal your true authentic self (your ancient name or true name). It is so much easier to live there.

this is a frequent battle for me. I used to think that this was not a real problem for me because I compared myself to other people that that have a more obvious big ego. Then I realized that ego has many forms and that it can really blind me. I need to continue working on this. thanks Yurij!
